Goulasch and mashed potatoes
Love for all things European
Speaking German with us
Pinching our cheeks
Amazingly warm hugs
Grooming us
Teaching us etiquette
Spoiling us on our birthdays
Seating assignments with all of the tall, dark, handsome men near her
Sharing her clothes with us
Eating off our plates
Mischievous look afterwards
Consuming laughter
Helping her daughters raise their children
Always being there for us
Cheering us up during crises
Lighting candles for us
Making us feel special no matter what
With all of the memories made during 65 years of marriage, Tie's favorite memory of Honey is still the first time that he met her.
"Last morning..." is how my eldest, Elise, described anything in the past. Now, she's starting kindergarten and has no use for this phrase! I want to remember this, along with all of our stories, so I'm putting it here on Last Morning's Adventures. I hope you can either relate or get a laugh. :)

Party Like A 2 Year Old!
We always talk about the terrible 2s---especially in our house! You've gotta give them one thing, though. They definitely know how to have fun! My godson, Baby A, turned 2 in July, and wow! he can throw a party!
I will say, however, there was a LOT of adult work put into having this little shindig!
And, Baby A was sure to love on Gramma Tonni for that amazing cake!
The cake *and* all of the fun was appreciated by all!---even the 5 year-old...
Brian, I was referring to MYSELF, not you! Yeesh!
And, did I say, she (and Baby A) throw one MEAN party!
Seriously. Check out the *adult* contingent of the party....

...who did NOT like being caught on camera!
Baby A especially appreciated the presents and referred to them as "My Birthday Party."
He even allowed some "help" with his Birthday Party.
*Some* help was better received than other...as you can tell by his expression, he can tolerate my little goober's misgivings...She is, afterall, a LOT of fun!! :)
The same is true about this boy's mama. She can forgive a lot of misgivings for certain people, especially when those people provide her with a LOT of laughs!Brian, I was referring to MYSELF, not you! Yeesh!

About You
1. I still need to write about my beach trip with the Floyds and Baby A's 2nd birthday party---which officially means I need to stop calling him Baby A, Sweet Ella Firth's birthday at King's Island, our whirlwind nursing home tour...
2. I'm very emotional today due to life's twists and turns, but I'm just not ready to write about it or anything about me for that matter.
3. So....I'm asking a favor from you. You being you: the person who is reading this right now. I want to put together and conglomerate of stories for the sole purpose of making me laugh---and you laugh---and maybe "someone else who needs a laugh" laugh.
4. My friend and hairdresser, Sandy, and her other client, Julie (I think), and I thought this topic would be HILarious: Compare and contrast the way your mother and mother-in-law (or if you don't have a mother-in-law: pick someone) treated the topic of sex while you were growing up or now. Just stay on topic: what's funny/ironic. :)
5. You can either post in the comment section, or e-mail me @ jacquelinemroche@hotmail.com with FUNNY in the subject line.
6. I will repost on my blog anonymously.
7. Come on. Make a girl's day. Write to me.
8. Thank you! :)

NC Cousin
The first half of my summer was defined for me, so the second half I did what I do best: traveled!
First on my list was my NC cousin's wedding reception...I actually counted the weeks out for my surgery to make sure I would be allowed to attend this awesome woman's celebration!
Growing up, we visited our family farm in KY and Melissa every Easter. It felt like freedom to me. I'm not sure if she only got in trouble when we were visiting, but *I* only got in trouble while we were visiting. And it was great! We did what I assume all cousins do together: we chased baby calves, collected cow skulls, locked boy cousins out of treehouses, walked to end of dirt roads for Push-Up Pops, organized such dancing clubs as Pootin Machine, played Cowboys and Indians (cowboys=boys; Indians=girls), created mud wrestling pits---along with mud wrestling names and you know---mud wrestled in new clothes, dressed up boy cousins in girl clothes and make-up, played in silos, fed cows, ran through manure in brand new white Keds, snuck out to play in snow, shoved younger sisters out of bedroom windows into snowy bushes, ice-skated on the back porch right next to our Moms---forgetting to hold in our squeals of delight as we twirled around....You know, the usual!

So, obviously, I could. not. miss. Melissa's wedding reception...
...and how fitting that she held her wedding reception on a farm...
...where these cousins could cut loose!
...and explore...
...and get in trouble...
...but most of all, HAVE FUN!!
Did I mention? I love this lady! And so do my kiddos!!
